How do they work?

Aussie Magic Heat Pack contains sodium acetate (saturated salt and vinegar) solution and a concave metal disc.  One click of the disc triggers a chain reaction causing the liquid to crystallize, releasing heat.  Boiling the pack in water reverses the reaction returning the pack to its original state ready to be used again.  You could be at work, in the car, on the farm, bushwalking or even in bed - use it whenever - wherever you need it next.  These amazing packs double up as a cold pack by cooling them in the fridge.

Caravanning with Confidence DVD

"Caravanning with Confidence" produced by award-winning touring & training company Global Gypsies, condenses everything you'd normally learn on their two-day hands-on training weekend - along with lots of other valuable information - into an informative and entertaining, professionally produced audio-visual production.

Some people think you can just buy a van, hook it onto your vehicle and away you go. But if you're reading this page, you know it's not that simple. There is a lot of skill involved in towing a van and reversing and parking can be an absolute nightmare for novices. Jeremy & Jan of Global Gypsies have seen caravan holidays ruined by accidents caused by unskilled drivers and spoiled by domestic disputes over caravan techniques. They believe this new DVD could help reduce accidents, give caravanners more skill and confidence, and may even save a few marriages along the way!

Subjects covered include the type of van and vehicle to choose, towing equipment, towing capacity, reversing, parking, safety and towing tips, off-road caravanning, communications, dealing with emergencies and planning and budgeting for a caravan trip. There are also several excellent checklists available for a nominal fee.

Optional hard copies of the valuable checklists contained in the production are available for an additional $10.

An Adventurer's Guide - Port Augusta to Esperance

This is the first comprehensive guidebook for outdoor lovers to cover this vast southern region of Australia.

From the sweep of the Great Australian Bight west from Port Lincoln to Esperance, to the adjoining inland country that is the Nullarbor Plain, and the surrounding woodlands and sandy mallee-covered deserts that lie between Port Augusta and Norseman, it is one of the least visited regions in Australia. Its variety of habitats offers a multitude of adventures for those wanting to get away from it all.

Whether you are a fisherman, a keen bush camper, surfer, sport diver, four wheel driver, or someone who just loves to get away from it all and into a pristine habitat, then this guidebook has all you need to experience the best that this southern region of Australia has to offer.

Ron & Viv Moon have been travelling this southern coast of Australia and the adjoining inland plains and deserts since the late 1960s. In recent years they have taken on the challenge of following the cliffs and beaches between Esperance and Port Lincoln. Well recognised outdoor adventure writers, Ron & Viv specialise in remote area travel, camping and 4wdriving.

 The Disputed Country
Australia's Lost Border

This new book chronicles the survey of the South Australian - Victorian border from 1847 to 1850.  It was an epic three year saga of dogged persistence through heavy rain and flooded swamps, harrowing escapes from the waterless Mallee Country and the almost immediate destruction of the border markers by a devastating firestorm.
It was soon proven that the surveyed border was several kilometres from the intended 141 east longitude, thus sparking a 64 year battle between the two states for possession of the "Disputed Country" that thin piece of land between the two lines.
Includes the story of the border fence, a field guide to key heritage sites as well as detailed maps, diagrams and trip notes for the Border Track.
