Job Description

We are currently seeking expressions of interest from qualified and ticketed Forklift Operators to fill any upcoming vacant roles in the 2019 Almond Season in the Almond Processing Factory located on the outskirts of Mildura, Victoria.

This is a challenging and fast paced environment. Working as a part of a team, your role as a Forklift Operator will require to ensure smooth and safe operation of the forklifts. You’ll need to be diligent in following strict operational procedures to foster a safety-conscious environment. With the factory operating 24h per day you will see yourself working 12 hours shift on a structured roster of 2 day on, 2 night on, 4 days off. Experience with shift work and willingness to work night shifts will be highly regarded. Where possible, candidates will be offered additional shifts across the processing plant.

Your Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate must have demonstrated experience in efficient forklift operations and hold current Australian Forklift License. Forklift roles within the factory are varied and tasks range from transporting almond bins to loading and unloading of trucks, while also undertaking various fixed plant machinery & labouring tasks. With a generous hourly rate, applications are competitive, and positions are granted based on merit, previous skills and experiences. To be successful in your application, you will need to be a proactive and a keen team player, you will be flexible, reliable and foster a ‘can do’ attitude.

To be considered for the role, it’s important you can address the following criteria:

Current Australian forklift licence
Proven experience in safe and efficient operations of a forklift
Professional references to support the above
Be flexible with requested tasks
Willing to work day and night shifts
Committed to the entire season (approx. six months)
Have good level of English
Able to work independently and as a team
Able to pass pre-employment medical/drug and alcohol test
Own transport – preferred
